Pre-define and schedule sections on the workspace
Before you build the schedule using the sections on the workspace, you can pre-define information for those sections and even pre-schedule them where you want them to be. Otherwise, the system completes the schedule using data you defined when you prepared scenarios.
For example, you can do the following:
- Assign teachers to course sections.
- Define which terms you want course sections to meet.
- Define which room to schedule a section in.
- Populate course and staff information with information from the current master schedule.
There are three ways to enter pre-schedule information:
- To edit information directly on the workspace, on the Options menu, click Modify List. Each column header contains the pencil icon . Click to edit the values in that column.
- To edit a field for several sections, select the check box next to the sections you want to enter a value for. Then, on the Options menu, click Mass Update. Select the field you want to update and the value you want to enter. For example, you might select all the sections you want to assign to a specific room. Then, use the Mass Update option to update the Room field to that room’s name.
- To edit all information for a section, select the section and click the Details side-tab. Click Roster to add students, click Staff to assign the section to a staff member, click Rules to define rules for the section.
Note: To copy course and staff information for sections from the current master schedule, on the Options menu, click Populate Schedule Attributes. |
