Define health log preferences
You can define requirements for your school’s health visit logs in the visit log preferences. The status of a health visit determines what fields are required when saving a health log entry.
There are four status types available:
- Current
- Open
- Pending
- Closed
In the preferences area, you can change what fields are required in order to save a record with a particular status type.

The Preferences side-tab is also where you manage access to health visit logs. For security purposes, you can make all visit logs read-only to everyone except the nurse or responsible staff member. You can also change the default group screenings result code.
To define your school’s health log preferences:
- Log on to the Health view.
- Click the Admin tab.
- Click the Preferences side-tab. The Preferences page appears.
- Do one of the following:
- To block staff from editing others’ health logs, select the Visit logs privately owned checkbox.
- To give staff the ability to edit all health logs, deselect the Visit logs privately owned checkbox.

Note: To give administrators or health managers the ability to edit any health log, regardless of owner, go into the user’s security role and select the Health log administrative override checkbox.
- Click to select the Default health screening definition.
- If you do not want the Default group screening result code to be Pass, click the drop-down to select a different value.
- Click Save to save your changes.
